About Jill
Jill Stelfox is a successful serial entrepreneur, having bought and sold dozens of companies, raised over fifty million dollars in venture capital and returned over 1000X to investors. She currently sits on several boards and is the President of Accession Point. Focusing on sales, marketing and building key relationships, Accession Point helps key executives develop and implement strategies that take their businesses to the next level.
As the CEO, Co-Founder and Chairman of Defywire, Jill led the company, which provided wireless technologies to our nation’s schools so that educational facilities can address student security and student safety in real-time. Jill committed herself to putting children’s safety at the top of the public agenda. She became a featured guest on both national and local television, as an expert on the best uses for technology to both help troubled children and provide safety in our education environments.
Prior to Defywire, Jill was a co-owner of Noblestar Systems where she served as Chief Financial Officer, Director of Mobile and Wireless, as well as being a Managing Partner. Jill led the successful effort to obtain venture capital for the spin-off company Riverbed Technologies, a developer of mobile and wireless synchronization products. Later, she managed the sale of Riverbed to Aether Systems for nearly $1 billion, with a 3000% percent return for her investors in just eighteen months. Jill spearheaded the expansion of Noblestar’s European presence through the acquisitions and divestitures.
Before joining Noblestar, Jill served as the Chief Financial Officer for Netafim Irrigation of North America, where she developed and implemented the company’s strategic plan, along with business re-engineering initiatives. Jill also spent six years with Deloitte & Touche as a CPA providing audit, tax and advisory services to privately held, fast growing and turn-around companies.
Jill is viewed as an expert resource in the wireless public safety market and is often tapped to speak at national industry conferences. She has authored a number of articles and has been quoted in many industry trade publications and news programs.
Jill holds a Bachelor’s of Science in accounting from California State University and a CPA from the State of California. In addition, Jill is a mom, a leader in her community, a philanthropist, and an avid Harley Davidson motorcyclist.
Jill serves on many community boards including the Inova Health Care Systems Board, the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital, and Success if the City. Her past boards include the Center for Innovation and Technology GAP Investment fund and the George Mason School of Management Advisory Board.
